KidsLIFE Foundation is a non-profit organization that employs the Waldorf educational philosophy in daycare centers accredited by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Cebu City. Waldorf education emphasizes creative play as a method of education instead of the standard approach currently used in schools.

I was asked to redesign their existing logo because they need more teachers, volunteers, investors, and donors to see them as a foundation that is capable and deeply committed to their mission of empowering young (and often disadvantaged) children.

I chose a star icon symbolizing the foundation’s aim to be a source of growth and care for the children and communities they serve. I added a smile to reflect the enthusiasm and warmth of the organization, but without leaning too hard on childish themes. I also used a bright color palette and a youthful typeface for the KidsLIFE wordmark. A sans serif font as the secondary typeface helps to keep the logo grounded.
