KidsLIFE Foundation is a non-profit organization that employs the Waldorf educational philosophy in daycare centers accredited by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Cebu City. Waldorf education emphasizes creative play as a method of education instead of the standard approach currently used in schools.

I was asked to redesign their existing logo, as they need teachers, volunteers, investors, and donors to view them as a foundation that is capable and deeply committed to their mission of empowering young (and often disadvantaged) children.

I went with a star icon symbolizing the foundation’s aim to be a source of growth and care for the children and communities they serve. To reflect the enthusiasm and warmth of the organization, but without leaning on “kiddie” themes, I chose a bright color palette, chose a youthful typeface for the KidsLIFE Foundation wordmark, then added a sans serif font as the secondary typeface to provide a businesslike contrast.
