Identity and promotional materials for AZChia-ChiaBia Pilipinas, a distributor of AZChia Whole Black Chia Seeds and ChiaBia Milled Black Chia Seeds. Chia seeds (salvia hispanica) were not yet widely known at the time, and they wanted to be the first to introduce the product to health-conscious Filipinos.

I thought that the sun would be an appropriate visual metaphor of chia seeds as a superfood that has numerous health benefits. The sun is a source of all living things, including the plant from which chia seeds are obtained, and is even one of the symbols used on the Philippine flag. Here, the sun symbol is given an organic, imperfect treatment to reflect the rustic nature of farming and of the ancient historical origin of chia seeds.
